What is the lifespan for a Biewer Terrier?

When you bring a Biewer Terrier into your home, you’re gaining a companion for the long haul. Most Biewers live between 14 and 16 years, and it’s actually quite common to see them still acting like puppies well into their late teens! Because they’re a toy breed, they don’t “slow down” as early as larger dogs do, which gives you more years of active companionship. We’ve found that a healthy diet and a little extra focus on dental care really make the difference in helping them reach those milestone birthdays.

At Rocky Mountain Biewer Terriers, we’re proud to be an AKC Bred with HEART breeder, which means we’ve pledged to prioritize health and responsibility in everything we do. To give our puppies the best start possible, we DNA test our breeding dogs for over 210 health risks. By screening for these genetic diseases before a puppy is even born, we’re able to provide you with a healthy new family member who is built for a long, happy life.
