Retired Adults – Adoption Info
We occasionally have retired adults available to approved homes. These are dogs who’ve finished their time in our program and are ready to spend the rest of their lives being spoiled pets—not breeders.
All adults leave:
-
Spayed
-
With a fresh dental (yes, sometimes that means a few teeth missing—doesn’t slow them down)
-
Up-to-date on vaccines and ready to settle into a new routine
Most are 6–8 years old, around 6–10 lbs, and still have plenty of personality and energy left. They’re done raising puppies—but they’re not done being loving, curious little companions.
What to expect:
-
They’re not leash trained (we use fenced yards and doggy doors)
-
All adults are pad trained and use the doggy doors to go potty outside, but they may need a little time to adjust to a new setup
-
They’re used to a quiet, predictable lifestyle, not loud outings or lots of car rides
-
It usually takes 4–5 weeks for them to fully settle in, and most families tell us things go smoother than expected with a little patience
How it works:
We use a $250 deposit to join the waiting list (this goes toward the final adoption fee). When an adult becomes available, you’ll get a text with photos and info in the order deposits were received. You can either pick that dog or wait for the next one. If nothing works out in 6 months, we’ll refund your deposit.
These dogs aren’t “past their prime”—they’re just ready to retire into a life where they get all the attention instead of sharing it with puppies. If you’ve got a calm home, a soft bed, and a little patience, one of our girls will be your perfect match.
